Here are some facts about what is going on.
- Sarah has fibrosarco (a fibrous tissue cancer) that has attacked the neck and top of the femur (right below the ball joint).
- The surgery consist of cutting Sarah's femur just below the tumor and replacing it with a steal replica.
- They will also remove any tissue that was in contact with the tumor.
- They will sew her back up and then off the recovery. The doctors say sometime around 5 days she could be ready to go home.
- The cancered bone will be sent off to the lab where it can be further tested, so the best course of treatment can be taken.
Please pray for Sarah's body / recovery. She is a strong woman and we all know she will do it, it is just a matter of the amount of anxiety. It would be nice to have this all behind us, but then we wouldn't have changed for the better. We absolutely believe that God has our best in mind, not only us but our children and you who are following in our journey. It may be hard to swallow sometimes, but he doesn't give us more than we can bear.
We will be praying for Sarah and all of you! I have sent out prayer requests to our church here in FL as well as to many online contacts. God is in control... He loves you and cares deeply for you.

Your are in our thoughts and our prayers. Our Lord is the greatest healer of all and we have faith that all will go well. The baby is beautiful. We will be praying for Sarah that her body will function as it needs to and her recovery will be quick as possible. God Bless
ReplyDeleteMore signs/sightings: Today in church our old testament reading was the story of Abraham being asked by God to sacrifice Isaac. The priest chose to focus on that for his homily, and I believe it was a reassurance of how very right you are, Sarah and Bob, to continue to trust in God so completely through all of this and how all of us praying for you should continue to trust completely too. I thanked the priest afterwards and he too will be praying for you.
ReplyDeleteIt also occurred to me on Friday morning, praying for the baby as he was about to be born, that if there was any miracle day for him to be born, 3-6-09 was it: all 3's, praise the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit for his safe arrival. I'm so glad to see on all the updates that he continues to do well, and I am so thankful, Sarah, that you had that bonding time with him (and Anderson and Lyndsey too!).
One "wordly" note: Sarah, if you have appetite and can stomach it, eat flax seed (whole seed or unrefined oil) mixed with cottage cheese. It has been a huge curative for some with cancer (the proteins in the cottage cheese are better than any other in pulling the omegas from the flax and helping your healthy cells take it in to stay healthy and fight the cancer).
All our prayers and love, Karen, Randy, Emily, and Luke.
Loved the pictures! We are praying for a successful surgery & a speedy recovery, so you can all be home together as a family. May God sustain you and carry you through this tough time. May He comfort Lyndsey and Anderson as they wait for their Mom, Dad and new brother to be home.

Praying that you will continue being a light to all who are watching you. You are both being an amazing testimony. Love you and still praying...
My thoughts and prayers are here with you today. I happened to look at the Mass General website and saw information on the "Center for Sarcoma and Connective Tissue Oncology". I don't think that you could be at a better hospital for this right now and it brings me peace knowing that you are in very good hands. For anyone interested the link is: http://massgeneral.org/cancer/services/treatmentprograms.aspx?id=1183
