Yesterday when the nurses notified us that the baby needed to be put on oxygen. They told us that holding / moving him to our room, would not be an option until stablizes. Family members would be allowed to go see him in his room, but he wasn't going anywhere. This meant Sarah would not be able to see him. Internally, God showed her to be thankful for the quality time she got to spend with Anderson and Lyndsey rather than stress about not being with the newborn. Sarah asked the nurses about just wheeling her down the the nursery so that she could at least look at him through the glass. One could see the reluctancy in the nurses faces. At this point Sarah surrender the thought of even seeing him, since it would just be too painful (emotionally) to see him and not be able to hold him.
It wasn't ten minutes after Sarah told the nurses that she was okay with staying in her room that they came in to wheel her down the hall to the nursery. They got the bed into the nursery, but the door to our baby's room is too small for the bed. Sarah couldn't stay where she was because she was blocking access to other infants. Either we were going to have to abandon the idea or ... "Why don't we move her over here where their are two open cribs" suggested another nurse. There was just enough room to fit Sarah's bed between the two. Once they moved her the another nurse suggested moving our baby from his room into the shared spaced. As a result not only was Sarah right beside our baby, they also layed our new born on Sarah's chest for a little quality time. Sarah got more than her hearts desire. The two layed there skin to skin for an hour. God is SO good.
Wow God is there moment by moment! Praise God for his faithfulness! We are with you in prayer....and love you all so much!

We love this picture of Sarah and the baby. What a gift for them to be together! Wonderful to see the two older kids with her as well.
ReplyDeleteI'm assuming someone has mentioned this, but a bunch of Grace folks are fasting today and praying for a couple of hours tonight for all of you.
Blessings! In His love, C, M, M, and H
What a precious picture. Sarah, I have been praying for you constantly about not seeing your precious boy, because when I had the twins by c-section I also could not see them. I remember how frustrating it was, so God certainly has answered all of those prayers! What a blessing! We will continue praying fervently for you as you undergo surgery again in the morning. God has already been through tomorrow and knows the outcome so continue resting in HIM! All our love,

It is so wonderful that you have a beautiful boy and are on the way to treatment. Sarah looks so peaceful and your baby looks great- not like a preemie at all. My prayers are with you.
